Beyond The Craft: What You Need to Know To Make a Living Creatively with US producer, director and former International Creative Management (ICM) Agent Jim Jermanok is particularly aimed at filmmakers who are interested in taking charge of their creative futures.

 

Beyond The Craft is a no-bull, bottom-line, empowering workshop advising creative professionals how to be proactive and reach the next level of their careers.

Topics covered will include:

• Working in film, TV, theatre, and new media
• Distinguishing yourself and your work
• Pitching yourself
• Overcoming creative career self-sabotage
• Effective networking and an easy networking system

• Finding and meeting the right agents, managers and producers for you
• Career strategies; and making things happen now!

About Jim Jermanok

For the past two decades, Jim Jermanok has had the good fortune to work as an award-winning writer, director and producer, creative entrepreneurship expert, consultant and speaker based in NY. Jim wrote and produced the highly acclaimed romantic comedy, “Passionada,” starring Jason Isaacs and Emmy Rossum which was released by Columbia Tri Star in over 150 countries. His film Clear Cut was produced for PBS and starred Stephen Fry and Calista Flockhart and he produced the film “Em” won the Grand Jury Prize at the Seattle International Film Festival and the Criterion International Inspiration Award. It was released recently by Vanguard Cinema and SnagFilms.

Last year, Jim Jermanok wrote and directed “Homophonia,” a political comedy film on gay marriage rights which has appeared at over 50 film festivals while winning several of them. Also active also in TV and New Media, Jim is currently developing eight fictional, comedy and reality TV series. His revolutionary new web series “LIFEADVICE.TV” has drawn tremendous praise since going live globally in November 2015. He has also produced or directed over 15 professional theatre productions including the American premiere of “The Tramway End” from Irish writer Dermot Bolger.

Mr. Jermanok is a former ICM Agent who spent eight years at one of the largest and most respected talent agencies in the world. Jim also speaks and conducts workshops worldwide on the subject of his recently published book, BEYOND THE CRAFT: What You Need to Know to Make A Living Creatively, Making Your Projects Happen: Successful Film/TV Producing and Financing as well as The Art and Business of Screenwriting.
