Cinemagic Festival Gets Underway
14th April – 13th June 2014
Cinemagic Dublin Festival kicked off today with a host of events at Filmbase.The Festival reaches out to young people to give them an insight into the film and television industry and offers film fans of all ages a chance to view classic and new movies from around the world. The festival is divided into three main areas; The Talent Lab Masterclasses, Public Film Screenings and the Education Programmes for both Under 12’s and 12-25 yr olds.
Highlights of this year’s festival include workshops and discussions with industry professionals such as Director Ian Fitzgibbon (Death of a Superhero, Moone Boy 2), Director Ben Kellett (BAFTA winning Mrs Brown’s Boys, The Armstrong and Miller Show), Oscar nominated and IFTA winning filmmaker and director, Steph Green (New Boy, Run & Jump), IFTA winning Director of Photography Seamus Deasy (The General, The Tiger’s Tail), Casting Director Louise Kiely, (What Richard Did, The Sea), and Presenter Aisling O’Loughlin (TV3 News, Xpose).
Alongside the masterclasses, Cineworld Cinemas will play host to a season of recent Irish made feature films that will be introduced by cast/crew (14-17 April). They include Death of a Superhero (Dir: Ian Fitzgibbon), Jump (Dir: Kieron J.Walsh), What Richard Did (Dir: Lenny Abrahamson) and The Sea (Dir: Stephen Brown)
