Community Television Festival 2017

13th  – 14th October 2017

If you have ever wondered what’s happening in the Irish community television scene and how you can make it work for you and also your local community groups then head for the Community Television Festival 2017 at Filmbase, Temple Bar on 13th-14th October.

There are fascinating and informative workshops on how to make quality films by using just your smartphone, insights into the challenges and joys of filming the independent music and arts scene and how to get funding for that film which you have always wanted to see on the silver screen.

The festival is hosted by Dublin Community Television (DCTV) who will be screening some great films which have been supported by community television and have gone on to win awards and be screened in cinemas and RTE (“Silent Movies” – winner of Irish Times – Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks and “Meetings with Ivor” acclaimed documentary recently screened on RTE).

This is real hands-on stuff. You will have the opportunity to not only listen to but chat to film directors, actors and sound engineers about your ideas. What’s not to like? Attendance is free to those who pre-register and a light lunch is included.
