Development Manager needed at The Model
The Model is a leading national and international contemporary arts centre situated in Sligo town, hosting up to eight contemporary art exhibitions annually, including commissions of high calibre Irish and international artists. The Model also has a dynamic education and outreach programme and music and comedy events which run throughout the year. Originally opened in 2001, The Model underwent an ambitious redevelopment in 2008-2010 and since then has consolidated its strong reputation for visual art, film, performance and education programming.
It has an acclaimed multidisciplinary contemporary art programme and has featured several major projects of noted national and international contemporary artists.The centre has developed dramatically over the last ten years and it’s outstanding programme has been reflected in the growth in visitor numbers throughout that period—annual figures have increased from 36,000 in 2001 to over 100,000 Irish and international visitors in 2014. In order to continue its work and become a sustainable organisation; The Model are looking to develop new income streams — primarily through fundraising. The Model wish to recruit the new position of Development Manager into the organisation. This person will be tasked primarily with growing private investment from philanthropic and corporate sources. Ideally, the Model is seeking an experienced development executive or fundraiser who has experience within, and knowledge of, the Irish and International philanthropic and sponsorship marketplace.
