Doors Screening: A Night of Awareness

Friday, January 19th 2018 @ 7pm.

The creators of Doors, would like to invite you to a special once-off screening at Filmbase.

“On the night we will be screening the recently released short film Doors alongside multiple short films, dedicated to the topic of Mental Health, with complimentary beverages served on arrival.

We will be finishing the evening with a Q&A, with the Director (Barry Fahy) and Writers of Doors (Clara White & Joe Byrne).

Doors had its Irish Premiere at the Indie Cork Festival, in October of this year, and made quite an impact on its audience. It follows a young couple, Emma and Conor, and how they deal with the reality of Mental Health. It explores the complexities of these issues and how we don’t always know how to help.

How do you verbalise something that’s never talked about? How do you fix something you didn’t realise needed fixing? How can you help if you don’t understand?

Our aim is to bring everyone together for a night of film, but more importantly a night of awareness. The more we talk about it, the closer we get to understanding. The closer we get to helping and the closer we get to one day banishing the stigma surrounding this issue. An issue that has affected absolutely everyone in some way or another.
This is a great opportunity to come together and be a part of one small step towards change. To show everyone that it is ok not to be ok.

Hope to see you there.”
