Festival Producer needed at Kilkenny Arts Festival
Kilkenny Arts Festival is Ireland’s oldest multidisciplinary festival, and one of Europe’s significant artistic events. For forty years it has brought some of the world’s leading artists to the beautiful historic spaces of Ireland’s medieval city each August. Known in particular for its music programme, the Festival spans a wide range of performing arts, literature and ideas, visual art, craft and design.
The Festival is now recruiting to the newly created position of Festival Producer, to work closely with the recently appointed Festival Director in bringing the Festival to a new level of achievement and international recognition. Reporting to the Festival Director, this experienced arts producer will take lead responsibility for producing the Festival programme. This is a PAID position.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep passion for and knowledge of the arts, exceptional experience of producing and managing performing arts events, and strong general management and financial skills, together with an ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence at multiple levels. Experience in festivals and/or as a producer of live music, including classical music, will be an advantage.
This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in one of Europe’s significant festivals at an exciting time of artistic and organisational development.
