Ali is known for being talkative, that’s if you can hear her over her hair. Straight out of the womb she was off to the theatre, hell bent on keeping her finger on the pulse of all the acting talent in Ireland. After a brief dalliance with acting in her teens, Ali started as a casting assistant at the tender and awkward age of 17, a love affair with the craft was born and from that, the rebellious child that is AC Casting sprung forth in 2002. Carving out a niche in commercial casting, she went on to dive headlong into drama projects too.
Some of the projects she has cast include: Outlander (2015), Black Sails (2015), Reign (2013-2014), The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box (2013), Hysteria (2013), Foreign Exchange (2013).
Ali has also cast a large variety of commercials and Music Videos.
Born Ann Churcher, Mel worked as an actor and broadcaster for twenty years. Her work included leading roles at the National Theatre, New Shakespeare Co. and extensive film and television work including classic series such as Upstairs Downstairs, Edward VII and Duchess of Duke Street.
Mel is now best known as an international acting and voice coach, and this has been the main part of her carreer for the last twenty-five years. She’s run voice/text courses in America, Singapore, Norway, Portugal, Hungary, Czech Republic and Croatia. Mel is also one of the top dialogue and acting coaches in movies. She has worked on over 50 major film and TV projects. The full list can be found on IMDB. She also directs in the theatre and has her own producing company, Trojan’s Trumpet. As well as working with actors, Mel teaches leaders of business and commerce charisma, confidence and presentation skills.
