The second Sky Road TV and Film Festival

The second Sky Road TV and Film Festival is ready take place this weekend from October 9th – 11th at the Station House Theatre, in Clifden, Co Galway.

Perfectly placed in October for autumn and winter releases, the festival aims to shine a spotlight on the best of Irish Film, Television and New Media.

The festival programme features a dynamic range of feature films, short films and documentaries. The festival will work closely with producers and broadcasters to bring the latest content in Irish cinema and television, in both the Irish & English language to the programme. The goal is to engage with filmmakers by providing a platform for discussion regarding media, trends and finance options available.

A series of awards will be up for grabs at the festival, with prizes for best Feature Film, Short Film, Feature Documentary, Short Documentary and Documentary Series. The Best Short Film award is sponsored by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.

Amongst the lineup is the IFB-funded One Million Dubliners, the acclaimed documentary directed by Aoife Kelleher, which examines the necropolis of Glasnevin Cemetery.

Attendees can also look forward to a selection of workshops at the festival, including a cinematography workshop with Ger Conway, an editing masterclass with Jill Beardsworth and an animation workshop for children age 5-8 with Cartoon Saloon’s Rory.
