Moon Man to Land in Irish Cinemas

Moon Man for news-1

The beautiful animated family film Moon Man from the Oscar-nominated producers of The Secret of Kells, Cartoon Saloon, landed in Irish cinemas just after Christmas, on 27th December.

The man on the moon is bored. One day he hitches a ride to Earth on the tails of a passing comet — an “attack from outer space” that sets the alarm bells ringing in the President’s headquarters — and starts to explore the fantastical creatures and sights of a new planet.

Based on a book by the acclaimed children’s illustrator Tomi Ungerer, Moon Man is a lively and off-beat feature directed by Stephan Schesch and Sarah Clara Weber that showcases the stunning artwork of Ungerer’s original book, which was first published in 1966.

Moon Man’s voice cast includes well-known Irish actors Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones, The Fall) and Pat Laffan (The Snapper, Father Ted) along with Undertones singer and TodayFM DJ Paul McLoone.

The Irish/French/German co-production was produced by Ross Murray and Paul Young for Cartoon Saloon in Ireland along with Schesch Filmkreation and Le Pacte.
