MY NAME IS EMILY – INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN
PLEASE TRY AND SUPPORT MY NAME IS EMILY
Last week we mentioned that we don’t normally promote crowd funding campaigns through the newsletter & website, but if ever there was one to promote its My Name Is Emily. We’d just like to remind you all about the film and if you haven’t already managed to donate to the project please click on the links below and read more about the campaign.
A number of years back Filmbase supported filmmaker Simon Fitzmaurice to make the short film The Sound of People. The resulting short film was a remarkable piece of work that confirmed Simon as a visionary director with a unique voice and an Irish talent to watch. Shortly after attending the Sundance Film Festival with The Sound of People Simon was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). This has not stopped him from completing the script for what will be his first feature film, My Name Is Emily, continuing to write with the help of Iris recognition software when he lost the use of his hands.
The film will go into production next year but due to the nature of Simon’s disease additional support will be needed to help him complete the film. This is where the IndieGoGo campaign will help as the funds raised will be put help support Simon through the pre-production, shooting and editing phases of the production.
Please read the story of this film on IndieGoGo, support the film and then help spread the word! We want this to happen.
The film is produced by Kennedy Films and Newgrange Pictures.
