Temple Bar Film Fest Full Info
:: Temple Bar Film Festival :: 6 - 9 June 06 ::

Filmbase, in association with Temple Bar Cultural Trust, have organised the first Temple Bar Film Festival to celebrate the best of our homegrown talent. The focus of the festival is on low budget films created in Ireland. These films often receive a limited amount of screening time, if any at all. The TBFF will allow a wider audience to see this stimulating range of short and feature-length films, in a variety of genres, including comedy, horror, drama and documentary.
The festival will take place from Tue 6th to Fri 9th of June opening with a gala screening of Capital Letters in Meeting House Square at 10pm. Wednesday to Friday will be jam-packed with a wide range of feature length films including mad cow zombie flick Dead Meat, urban punk drama The Last Bus Home and contemporary thriller Winter’s End. Other features you can catch at the festival are Starfish, Park, The Fifth Province, Pigs, Paranoia and Hobo. 40+ short films have been selected and will be screened in themed one-hour programmes at Filmbase (1pm Wed – Fri) and in various local pubs and bars during the festival. These films have been grouped into themes so hopefully there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
With a large range of free and low cost events this is surely a great way to start the summer. Festival membership is required by all festival attendees* but at only €1 it won’t break the bank (this includes a free €20 voucher for www.ScreenClick.com). Tickets for events at Meeting House Square are free and tickets for screenings at Filmbase are only €2. Membership and tickets will be available from Filmbase foyer from the 1 June.
* Festival membership is included in the fee for Filmbase membership so current members are covered.

I am an independent film-maker and I have recently completed a high quality short film. I also have several very entertaining music videos (two of them shot in America) available.
How do I get something of mine shown at a future festival?

Hi Gerard,
As this was a low/no budget festival we didn’t have an application process and simply programmed from our own experience from other festivals/ Shortscreen etc. If this changes in the future it will be well flagged.
Hope you enjoy the festival!
