Ciaran Hinds wins Best Actor at Tribeca
The award winners for the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival have been announced.
Best Actor in a Narrative Feature Film went to Ciarán Hinds for his leading role in Conor McPherson’s The Eclipse. Written by McPherson and Billy Roche the supernatural drama screened as part of the World Narrative Feature Competition category. The jurors commented that “Ciarán Hinds’ powerful performance explores both strength and vulnerability, while propelling and deepening the film’s examination of masculinity and desire.”
Produced by Rob Walpole for Treasure Entertainment with funding from Bord Scannán na hEireann/ the Irish Film Board, RTE and BCI, The Eclipse was shot on location in Cobh, Co. Cork last September.
