The award-winning Irish short film FRANKIE written and directed by Darren Thornton will be touring Europe over the coming months as it has been chosen to screen on two prestigious film tours.

The short film has been chosen to screen as part of the The Short Golden Nights Tour by the French Academy of Film Arts and Technical (Les Cesar). Nine films, awarded by the most prestigous film academies will tour European Cinemas - 20 cities in 8 countires - from the 7th May to 3rd July 2009.

FRANKIE will also screen as part of Short Matters!, the European Film Academy’s short film tour which brings the short films nominated for the European Film Awards 2008 (Prix UIP) to a series of renowned film festivals across Europe.

On Friday 15th May, FRANKIE will screen as part of INPUT, the annual global conference on public television which takes place in Warsaw. INPUT is a global, voluntary organisation set up by television professionals for television professionals - with the aim to showcase, inspire and lead television programmes in the public service. FRANKIE will be one of only 83 productions from 40 countries to be shown during the conference.

Produced by Calipo Picture Company as part of the Short Cuts short film scheme, FRANKIE was funded by the IFB and RTE.
