4th Guth Gafa International Documentary Film festival - on this weekend

If you still don’t have plans for this weekend - visit Gort An Choirce, Donegal for a great weekend of documentary film!

From the 12th to the 14th June, Guth Gafa is presenting 30 award winning international and Irish documentary films with the attendance of most of the directors - ‘See all the films, meet all the directors’.

Offering films, seminars, master classes, screenings and workshops for children, a Festival Café and Club, and even a free crèche, Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival has something for everyone from students and families to industry visitors.

Chill out in our Festival Club – and chat over the day’s screenings. As twilight descends the music will swing up tempo with the soulful vocals and stunning sounds of The Mirenda Rosenberg Band on Saturday night.

How to get to Guth Gafa…
Gort An Choirce is located in North West Donegal on the N56 route, around 40km from Letterkenny. It can be easily reached by car, air or bus.
For more details visit the Locations page on the Guth Gafa website.

Where to stay…
The Accommodation page on the Guth Gafa website has a list of Hostels, B&B’s and Hotels in the area.

How will the weather be…
Well….its Ireland so we can never be too sure but if it’s sunny - chill out in between screenings at the Festival Café surrounded by Donegal countryside… If it’s raining - Pick one of the 30 International Documentary films on offer or sit in the comforts of the local and chat to one of the 25 directors present!
Rain, hail, wind or snow Guth Gafa festival 09 is not to be missed…

The Guth Gafa Festival would not be possible without the dedicated hard work of the festival team and the generous support of Bord Scannán na hÉireann, Ealaín na Gaeltachta, IFTN, The Arts Council, TG4, The Radharc Trust, Údarás na Gaeltachta, The Broadcast Commission of Ireland, Screen Producers Ireland and other industry partners.
