King of India was screened at the Joris Ivens Competition at IDFA in Amsterdam, one of the two Indian films ever to have been selected for its main competition.
Short clips of the following will also be shown:
- Dhrupad in the time of liberalisation (30 mins.).This is about the situation of Dhrupad, the oldest surviving form of Hindustani classical music today.
- The Saint who became the world (58 mins). This is a film on Swami Vivekananda.
