ANIMATION PRESENTATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE:

Calling All Aspiring Animators!

Filmbase will host an animation presentation using Adobe Flash aimed at young people to introduce this software in a fun and stimulating environment.

The session will start at 6pm and will last approximately an hour and a half. It will kick off with the screening of some animated films created by the trainer Clifford Parrott and will continue with a practical demonstration of the applications main functions and tools.

This session is suitable for all aspiring animators aged 12+. Numbers are limited so booking for this session is essential. To book please contact Clare at Filmbase by email on clare [AT] filmbase [DOT] ie. Please write ‘Animation Demo’ in the subject line and make sure to include your full name, a contact number and the number of attendees (max 4 bookings per person).

FILMMAKING WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE:

Practical Filmmaking Workshops for Budding Filmmakers ages 8+

Filmbase will host three workshops geared towards young people from ages 8 and up, offering an introduction to practical filmmaking. All three workshops will firstly give participants an introduction to the vocabulary of filmmaking with the use of a number of exercises. These exercises look at the role of sound effects, music, editing and mise-en-scene in film. The second section of the workshop would move on to look at the practical equipment used including a digital camera, boom, tripod etc. Finally, the participants are given a role to play (director, sound op, actor, clapper loader etc) and, led by the facilitator, they will film a short piece to tape. This mini-film will be played back at the end of the hour long workshop for everyone to enjoy.

The first workshop of the evening will be at 6pm and is suitable for young people ages 8 - 12. There will be two more workshops held after these for young people ages 12+.

6.00 – 7.00pm Workshop 1 (ages 8-12 years)
7.30 – 8.30pm Workshop 2 (ages 12+ years)
9.00pm – 10.00pm Workshop 3 (ages 12+ years)

As numbers for each workshop are limited you must book in advance for these sessions. To book please contact Clare at Filmbase by email on clare [AT] filmbase [DOT] ie.
