Archive Education Officer (AEO)
Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive (DFA) contains over sixty-five hours of moving image material relating to Northern Ireland. As part of its continuing development, the AEO will work to support outreach and training programmes for DFA sites across Northern Ireland and other partner organisations such as Libraries NI, reminiscence and older people’s groups. The post will include the development of additional content and rights clearance for the DFA and maintenance of related websites. The AEO will also support the development of customised educational programmes for delivery as part of the school curriculum in conjunction with our external partners.
Ideally the AEO will have an excellent knowledge of moving image archive and experience in delivery of presentations to a variety of audiences. A good knowledge of the primary and post-primary education system in Northern Ireland is desirable, as is a passion for the educational and cultural potential of the archive. The AEO should have an awareness of Northern Ireland culture, history and film. A relevant third level qualification is essential. A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are also necessary. Development Co-ordinator (DC)
Northern Ireland Screen is the national screen agency for Northern Ireland whose aim is to accelerate the development of a dynamic and sustainable screen industry in Northern Ireland. A large part of that work is finding and developing screenwriters who can express the many unique voices of Northern Ireland.
The Development Co-ordinator will have at least two years experience in theatre, film and/or television in a script development role. An excellent knowledge of the writing community in Northern Ireland coupled with an excellent knowledge of the film and television production industry in the UK and Ireland are required; as is a good knowledge of the key development funding bodies within the industry. Information Technology skills and the ability to apply them to a script development environment are also essential. A competitive salary will be offered to suitably qualified candidates.
