New online channel - Platform Ireland

Platform Ireland is a new online channel showcasing the best of Irish arts and culture for free

Log on, sit back and watch ‘Madama Butterfly’ – a live recording of the Opening Night of the Opera Ireland season at The Gaiety Theatre on your computer or mobile. Opera not your thing?…then check out “The Adventures of Flannery”, a documentary about Cathal Coughlan (Bandit Films) or or sit back and enjoy a night at the Gate Theatre in the company of Thomas Kinsella and some of Irelands leading poets, writers and critics…there’s plenty to watch.

Currently www.platformireland.ie also features performances from Druid Theatre Company, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Poetry Ireland and plenty of short films and introductions to some of Irelands leading culture and entertainment organisations.

In addition to screening content, Platform Ireland is undertaking an audit of arts content produced in Ireland over the last decade. At the end of the trial, data from the audit, and client & audience surveys, will be assessed to develop Platform Ireland into the leading channel for showcasing all audio-visual arts content in Ireland for promotion nationally and internationally.

Platform Ireland are looking for the Irish Arts sector to get involved so please send on any good audio visual content you want to showcase across visual, performance, traditional arts and literature. Guidelines for submissions are available on www.platformireland.ie

Watch something different…discover something new…get involved! Register and login to www.platformireland.ie
