A new band, new sound and a new instrument
This is a brand new 8 part series where Dónal Lunny, a key player from the Bothy Band, Planxty and Moving Hearts, searches the country for young musicians to create a new band with a fresh new sound in traditional music.
We are brought on a journey through the archives of traditional music up until its revival in the 70’s along with Dónal Lunny’s contribution to it. He will give us a very personal account of where traditional music is, where it’s going and in what areas it needs to change.
