The Volta is the JDIFF Career Achievement Award, and this year the festival is delighted to recognise the outstanding acting talent of Ciarán Hinds, Patricia Clarkson and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Equally comfortable on stage and screen, all three honourees move effortlessly between charismatic leading roles and scene stealing supporting turns, they light up the screen in every role. It is a huge honour to welcome Ciarán Hinds, Patricia Clarkson and Kristin Scott Thomas to the festival to present their new films and to accept our festival tribute.’
The Volta awards are named after Ireland’s first dedicated cinema, the Volta Picture Theatre, which was located on Mary Street in Dublin and was established by James Joyce in 1909.
