Calls for Submissions for 22nd Galway Film Fleadh

The organisers of the 2010 Galway Film Fleadh are currently inviting Feature Film applications for the 22nd edition of the festival, which will run from the 6 – 11 July. Filmmakers and producers can enter their projects into several categories including Best First Feature, Best Feature Documentary and Best Irish Feature.

Whilst many films are invited to the Fleadh in the categories below all sections are also open to entry to projects completed after January 2009. Furthermore all films are selected by the Programme Director in consultation with the programming associates.

With regards the Best First Feature group - Irish, European and International fiction films are eligible. Irish, European and International Creative Documentary films are eligible in the Best Feature Documentary group. Again, while many films are invited to the Fleadh in this category, the section is also open to entry. To submit into the Best Irish Feature category applicants should note that Irish films from both new and established filmmakers are eligible.

The submission deadline for selection purposes, which means the deadline for the festival’s office to receive the required submission materials, is on or before 26th March 2010. The festival is not obliged to view late entries. In all categories any film that has been previously broadcast on television in Ireland or screened at another Festival shall have less priority in programming terms than those that may premiere at the Fleadh. The Fleadh gives priority to World and International premieres in all categories.

All selected films are chosen by a panel of industry professionals and all winning categories are judged by the audience and/or a jury. All Submissions should be sent to Galway Film Fleadh, 36D Merchants Dock, Merchants Road, Galway, Ireland
