Filmbase to screen a selection of Irish language short films throughout the St. Patrick’s Festival

The St. Patrick’s Festival kicked off on Friday 12th with a whole host of activities taking place across the city and country this weekend and into next week. As part of the festivities Filmbase has programmed a selection of Irish language short films which will screen at the building for passers by to watch and enjoy. Below is a list of the films chosen, you’ll find there’s a selection of some of the most recent Irish language shorts to be made in Ireland as well as some old favourites!

Films Screening:
Tóg Mise Leat (wr./dir. Aaron O’Reilly, pr. Brian Bourke), Eireville (wr./dir. James Finlan, pr. Brian Kelly), Finscéal Pháidi (wr./dir. Colm Bairead, pr Greg Corcoran), Mac An Athar (wr./dir. Colm Bairead, pr. Greg Corcoran), An Cosc (wr. Hugh Travers, dir. Vincent Gallagher, pr. Claire McCaughley), Rolla Saor (wr. Brendan Griffin, dir. Cathal Watters, pr. Rachel Lysaght) and Yu Ming Is Ainm Dom (wr./dir. Daniel O’Hara, pr. Grainne O’Carroll & Ingrid Goodwin).

These films will be screening on a loop on the TVs either side of the main entrance to Filmbase during office hours from Sat 13th until St. Patrick’s Day. All of the films above were funded through the Filmbase/TG4 Lasair scheme apart from Rolla Saor which was funded through the Irish Film Board/TG4 Oscailt scheme.

NB Don’t forget that Filmbase will be closed on St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday 17th of March, as it is a bank holiday!
