Filmbase and Film Ireland to host a free Make-Up FX event and Wine Reception on Wed Apr 28th

Filmbase and Film Ireland to host a free Make-Up FX event and Wine Reception on Wed Apr 28th from 6-8pm in Filmbase

Come to Filmbase on Wednesday 28th of April to see professional Special Effects Make-Up artists Terri Pinnell and Tom McInerney do live demos with specialist products.

Terri (Zombie Bashers, Portrait of a Zombie) will be creating cuts, bruises, throat slashes, burns, a zombie monster and more while Tom (Savage, Fairycatcher) will create his dark interpretation of a “Fairy” creature using full prosthetic make up.

Terri will also be tutoring a new Special Effects Make-Up weekend course (see below for details) in Filmbase on Saturday May 22nd and Sunday May 23rd, so why not come along and see what will be in store.

To see some of Terri’s work on Zombie Bashers click here (www.rte.ie/storyland) and to see an example of Tom’s Fairy creature in Fairycatcher click here (www.windmilllane.com/index.php/our_work/showreel_view/fairycatcher)

The Spring Issue Film Ireland guest editor, Conor McMahon, will also be on hand to show us how realistic blood and brains can be manufactured using little more than a microwave, common foodstuffs and some misguided passion! If you can’t wait ’til then to get cooking, both the blood and brains recipes are available in the current Spring issue of Film Ireland.

Model Maker Ben O’Connor will display some of his recent work including full robot suit to showcase more of Ireland’s creative talent.

Monster Competition!
We’d like to invite you to get creative on the night. What kind of Special FX make-up can you do at home? Conor and Terri will judge the best DIY make-up and costume and the winner will be the lucky recipient of a fabulous prize and may even get to star in a Conor McMahon cinematic creation filmed at the event. Footage shot by our man of horror will be posted on the Filmbase YouTube channel and on filmireland.net so start planning your costume now.

Everyone is welcome, if you would like to attend then please email info@filmbase.ie or call 01-6796716 with your contact details so we have an idea of numbers attending as refreshments will be provided on the night!!
