RTE invites proposals for Christian Worship programmes
RTÉ Religious invites proposals for a series of monthly Sunday morning Christian Worship programmes. The aim of these broadcasts is to complement their schedule of in-house, studio-based worship in a way that reflects and celebrates Christian belief, practice and worship.
Programmes must be accessible, entertaining and inspirational to a mainstream RTÉ One audience, with a priority placed on finding the events, places and themes.
As well as a regular monthly slot, this commission also includes two further broadcasts, one on Christmas Day and one to be confirmed. Production companies will need to demonstrate the technical capability to deliver high quality single and multi-camera output and also an understanding of liturgy and a clear grasp of the religious culture and sensibilities.
The maximum budget is €430,000 for the 14 Sunday morning programmes and a further €20,000 for the 3 minority faith festival programmes, however more cost-effective proposals will be welcomed.
Producers must submit ideas into the eCommissioning system at www.rte.ie, under the programme category (Christian Worship Programmes), by close of business on 21st June 2010.
