Filmbase to screen over 50 shorts as part of The Summer Sensational (8 - 11 July)
If you can’t make it down to Galway this weekend for the Fleadh then why not pop by Temple Bar where a new summer festival The Summer Sensational will be taking place from today until Sunday. Filmbase will be getting into the spirit of things by offering cinemagoers the chance to view a selection of Irish shorts from recent years.
A whole host of award-winning films will be on offer including the OscarĀ® nominated short film The Door and recent Silverdocs winner Bye, Bye Now. There will be dance films, documentaries, Irish language shorts, animation and live action with a good mix of drama, horror, romance and comedy to get your teeth into. We’ll be screening the films at different times throughout the four days. There will be lunchtime screenings suitable for all ages each day. Then on Saturday and Sunday we will have an additional two screenings per day in The Culture Box at the Temple Bar Information Centre and at La Dolce Vita restaurant on Cow’s Lane.
