Hollywood Award Nominations for ‘Henry & Sunny’

The independent Irish short film ‘Henry & Sunny’ has been nominated for three awards at Hollywood’s Feel Good Film Festival.

‘Henry & Sunny’ is written & directed by Fergal Rock and produced & photographed by Orla Russell-Conway. The film stars Paulo Braganca and Dorothy Cotter.

In addition to Best Short, Fergal Rock has been nominated for Best Director while Dorothy Cotter has been nominated for Best Actress. Fergal is the only short film director to receive a Best Director nomination and will compete against five feature film directors for the Award. Dorothy has been nominated alongside Greta Gerwig (Greenberg) for Best Actress.

‘Henry & Sunny’ tells the bittersweet tale of Henry, an unemployed clown, in love with the famous soap opera actress, Sunny Carmichael.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be nominated in the Best Short Film, Best Director and Best Actress categories”, said director Fergal Rock. To be selected for a Hollywood film festival and have the opportunity to screen our film in as prestigious and historic a setting as The Egyptian Theatre is a fantastic achievement in its own right. To receive nominations for Best Director and Best Actress is the icing on the cake.”

The Feel Good Film Festival takes place at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood from August 13th-15th.

There will be a special pre-Hollywood screening of Henry & Sunny at The Odessa Club on Sunday, July 25th at 8pm. The screening will be followed by live music and DJ. Admission is €8.
