Irish Comedy ‘Happy Ever Afters’ Set for DVD Release this week

Stephen Burke’s screwball wedding comedy Happy Ever Afters, will be available to own on DVD from Friday 23rd July.

The Irish feature film tells the story of two couples who are married in different churches on the same day. Maura marries Wilson, a Nigerian immigrant and Freddie marries the uptight Sophie for the second time. However, trouble begins when the two weddings collide with both receptions booked for the same hotel and the fun really starts when the immigration police arrive.

This slapstick comedy stars a strong cast including Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky), Tom Riley (St. Trinians 2), IFTA nominees Jade Yourall, Ger Ryan and Simon Delaney and introduces the feature debut of 11 year old Sinead Maguire who has been receiving glowing reviews from critics; “a terrific comedy performance” from Film Ireland and “wide eyed Sinead Maguire is a real find” from BBC Radio Times.

Produced by Lesley McKimm for Newgrange Pictures, Happy Ever Afters was co-financed by the IFB, Filmstiftung NRW and Films Distributions. The U.S distribution rights have been bought by top independent U.S distributor IFC and sales agreements for the film have now been concluded in 20 international territories. The film will also be released on DVD across the U.K this week as well as theatrical releases confirmed for Italy and Germany in the coming months.

Happy Ever Afters will be available across Ireland on DVD from this Friday 23rd July.
