Big Mountain Productions, have been commissioned to make a major new historical documentary series for TV3, with the support of BAI.

Through reconstruction, archive, historical and genealogical research and a rich cast of experts, the series will reveal the real story of Ireland’s capital city at the beginning of the most remarkable decade in its history.

Big Mountain is looking for a Series Producer, who has a proven track record in delivering historical documentaries or series and has a minimum of ten years experience at PD / SP level. Someone with visual flair - on location and in the cutting room, experience of scripting engaging, complex programmes, sound editorial judgement and great communication skills, in order to manage a small team. The SP must have great prioritisation and organisational skills, in order to deliver the series within schedule and budget.

Big Mountain is also looking for an experienced and resourceful Assistant Producer, with a proven interest in history, who has at least 5 years broadcast experience.

The AP must have the ability to nurture effective relationships with academic institutions and libraries, and have experience of researching and acquiring archive stills and footage.

They must also have excellent communication and people finding skills, as casting contributors will also be an important part of the role. Extensive location experience is required, as is the ability to set up complicated shoots.

For both positions you must be willing and able to work between Newry, Dundalk and Dublin and be available September 2010 – March 2011.

If you have the relevant skills and experience please send your cv to:
