Outline:
Dónal Ó Céilleachair has been invited to be Mentor-in-Residence at the Cork Film Centre for a 6 month period beginning on September 15th, 2010. As Mentor-in-Residence, Dónal will Mentor three (3) selected local Cork filmmakers with current film projects in either development, production or post production. As Mentor-in-Residence, Dónal will make himself available to meet with each filmmaker in person once per month over the outlined period and be available on a weekly basis to offer guidance, support and advice via email and telephone on an as-needed basis. This is an unique opportunity for Cork-based filmmakers to the avail of the expertise of a filmmaker with international experience while he is involved in two film productions in Cork in 2010 and 2011.
Application Requirements:
1. Letter of Application to include filmmaker’s full contact information and a summary description of the project status including: stage of the project, percent complete, budget and confirmed funding levels if any.
2. A brief 300 word synopsis of the project and a treatment or script where available.

Originally from Cork Dónal Ó’Céilleachair has lived in New York since 1990, and now lives between New York and Ireland. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin [B.Sc. (1990), MA (1994)] and has studied film at NYU, School of Visual Arts and Film/Video Arts, NY. Ó Céilleachair’s experience spans across the independent film landscape (including narrative, documentary and experimental film) having worked on over 50 films in the past 20 years. Ó’Céilleachair’s films have shown at festivals and in museums across the world and is currently based in Cork while working on two Irish Music Documentaries (see below).
