Programme Manager for Waterford 1100 June Event


Job Notice

Founded in 914 AD, Waterford is Ireland’s oldest city. Throughout 2014 Waterford is celebrating the foundation of the city with a programme of activities and events, beginning on New Year’s Eve 2013 and ending with Winterval in December 2014. Waterford 1100 is an initiative of Waterford City Council and is seeking a Programme Manager who will develop and deliver a defined programme of events and activities which will take place in Waterford City on the weekend of June 21 and 22 2014.

Programme Manager Deliverables (Paid)

• Programme events and activities for the weekend of June 21/22 in line with the event brief.

• Lead and work closely with Event Controller and Production Manager to deliver the event.

• Ensure that the programme is collaborative in nature and seek partnerships between local and national organisations and agencies in delivering this objective.

• Work within and manage defined budgets

• Management of travel, accommodation and general logistic information for festival participants (performers etc)

• Ensure compliance with Waterford City Council Procurement Policy when procuring products and/or services

• Work in harmony with the Waterford 1100 Marketing and PR team and ensure timely delivery of accurate information.

• Develop volunteer programme in partnership with Waterford Area Partnership

• Co-ordinate and deliver schools and community involvement

• Responsible for the administration and archiving of the programme of events

• Responsible for all health and safety requirements with the Event Controller and Production Manager.

• Work in unison with the Waterford 1100 planning committee at Waterford City Council, ensuring that they are kept fully informed of plans by producing an implementation plan and regular written reports.


Proven track record of event management and delivery of large scale projects.
