The Writers’ Guild of Ireland has announced the nominees for the ZeBBie Awards 2016
The Writers’ Guild of Ireland has announced the nominees for the ZeBBie Awards 2016 which include a number of Irish Film Board funded projects. Members of the Guild are now voting for the ‘Best Script’ in each category and voting will close on Friday 22nd April. The winner in each category will be announced at the ZeBBie Awards on Wednesday 25th May at The Sugar Club in Dublin, which will be hosted by Senator David Norris.

Two Irish short animations A Coat Made Dark and Geist have been selected for the Grand Competition in the 26th World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb which will take place in June.

Directors and Actors Intensive Lab
Aimed at directors and actors working together. This course explores directing drama and comedy with specific regard to working with actors to deliver the best performance to tell the story. This class meets twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays for three hours over April and May.
Congratulations to the Irish animated series Puffin Rock
Congratulations to the Irish animated series Puffin Rock, which has won two prizes at the Kidscreen Awards.
Nominated in the Programming – Preschool category, Puffin Rock won the award for Best Animated Series and Best New Series. Coming from Kilkenny-based Cartoon Saloon, Derry-based Dog Ears and Penguin Books, Puffin Rock joined other winners on the night including Sesame Street and Horrible Histories.

The Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival is now in full swing, with the Irish animated short A Coat Made Dark screening in official selection. Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) has a stand at the event, which is located at Irish Stand #9 at the Short Film Market, Clermont Ferrand.
