Street Photography Exhibition

Press Release IMG_5765

3rd-8th June 2015

A retired Dublin firefighter turned photographer is to hold his first solo exhibition of his work after winning Irish Street Photographer of the Year.

Palmerstown local, Greg Matthews, who took up photography less than five years ago, will showcase some of his black and white street images at the Filmbase in Curved street Temple Bar, from 3rd June 3rd – 8th June.

Greg, a member of Dublin Camera Club and the Irish Street Photography Group (ISPG), has spent hours on the city streets capturing the images. The exhibition demonstrates a mixture of different street photography styles; from candid shots taken without the subject being aware to random street portraiture with the subject posing for the camera.

“Although it’s a hobby, I’m totally passionate about it. I spend so much time taking photos” says Greg. “And, I just love to take photos of people, especially as they go about their daily lives throughout Dublin. For me, it’s just all about capturing that moment.”
