Irish Casting Director Amy Rowan has been shortlisted for the first European Casting Director Award for her work on the Simon Fitzmaurice feature film My Name is Emily. The award for best European Casting Director will be presented at the Locarno Film Festival at a ceremony on Sunday, August 7. The shortlist of 7 was chosen by the International Network of Casting Directors from 21 submissions and will go forward to a jury chosen by the Festival.

A Diverse Collection of Work to Celebrate the Centenary of 1916

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board is pleased to announce the world premiere of After ‘16, a programme of short films which were commissioned to celebrate the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. The screening, which will be introduced by Jim Sheridan, will take place this Sunday February 21st at the Light House Cinema as part of the Audi Dublin International Film Festival. These nine short films capture filmmakers’ responses to the events of 1916 and the stories told are a mixture of live action drama, animation and documentary.
