Political Thriller ‘The Truth Commissioner’
Funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, The Truth Commissioner stars Roger Allam (V for Vendetta, The Wind that Shakes the Barley) as Henry Stanfield, a career diplomat who has just been appointed as Truth Commissioner to Northern Ireland. Although he starts bravely, he quickly uncovers some bloody and inconvenient truths about those now running the country – truths which none of those in power wish to have revealed.

A Diverse Collection of Work to Celebrate the Centenary of 1916
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board is pleased to announce the world premiere of After ‘16, a programme of short films which were commissioned to celebrate the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. The screening, which will be introduced by Jim Sheridan, will take place this Sunday February 21st at the Light House Cinema as part of the Audi Dublin International Film Festival. These nine short films capture filmmakers’ responses to the events of 1916 and the stories told are a mixture of live action drama, animation and documentary.

Congratulations to the Irish animated series Puffin Rock
Congratulations to the Irish animated series Puffin Rock, which has won two prizes at the Kidscreen Awards.
Nominated in the Programming – Preschool category, Puffin Rock won the award for Best Animated Series and Best New Series. Coming from Kilkenny-based Cartoon Saloon, Derry-based Dog Ears and Penguin Books, Puffin Rock joined other winners on the night including Sesame Street and Horrible Histories.
