‘The Lobster’ Lands 5 Nominations for European Film Awards

Irish talent has been in the spotlight for international film awards this week, with Irish co-production The Lobster receiving seven nominations at the Moët British Independent Film Awards, which also saw John Crowley’s Brooklyn being nominated in five categories in addition to a nomination each for Corin Hardy’s The Hallow and Lenny Abrahamson’s Room. This comes in the wake of Saoirse Ronan’s award win at the Hollywood Film Awards last weekend.

The Lobster, which won the Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is Irish co-produced, will be released in Irish cinemas this Friday, October 16th.

Kerry Film Festival has announced that it will host a parallel premiere screening of The Lobster on Thursday, 8th October in Killarney. The film will premiere in Dublin on the same night, but as the film was shot in Kerry, Kerry Film Festival has secured a rare parallel screening of the film for local audiences.
