The IFB/JDIFF CINE Talent award

The Summit230x240-4

Voting now open

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board is delighted to partner with the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, Universal Pictures and Screen International for the second year running on the CINE Talent award, which celebrates emerging Irish talent. Nick Ryan, director of The Summit, won the inaugural award in 2013.

2014 sees a slight change to the award’s structure: to emphasise the collaborative nature of the filmmaking process, nominations for this year’s award have come directly from the production companies and/or distributors within the Irish season. The prize will be awarded to an Irish filmmaker or cast member involved in one of the Irish films screening at the festival this year, with the talent behind over 20 films up for consideration.

A public vote will go live on the JDIFF website. Updates will be available throughout the festival, with shortlists being drawn up by closing weekend and the winner announced on February 25th.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, February 25th. The prize will include profile from Screen International and networking opportunities at their events at the Toronto, Cannes and Berlin film festivals. The winner will also receive the support and assistance of Universal Pictures and Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, with networking introductions to influential industry contacts with a view to securing the widest possible audience for their film. The prize will also crucially include mentoring opportunities from established industry professionals.
