Is your work a little too dialogue heavy? Would you like to develop your skills in writing and storytelling? In this weekend course, students will develop the tools to communicate ideas through visual mediums. This course is perfect for both directors and writers who want to expand their skillset.
The course will focus on visual storytelling, exploring how to deliver exposition with minimal use of dialogue. Through a combination of references and materials, you will learn to examine how thoughtfully considered visuals, through movement, shooting style, symbolism, and performance, can enhance your story cinematically.
Using some examples of his own work with Girl Band, SOAK and others, Bob will explain his approach to narrative driven music video, and visual drama and workshop potential ideas and pitches. Although not a requirement, students are invited to bring their own concepts and ideas to work through in the class.
