Sing Street 230x240-6

Sing Street’, ‘How Was Your Day?’ and ‘Geist’

The Irish lineup at the SXSW lineup has grown further, with John Carney’s feature film Sing Street joining the previously announced I Am Not a Serial Killer, along with short films How Was Your Day? and Geist, all of which were funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board. Irish short films Ernistine & Kit directed by Simon Bird and Snowfall were also added to the lineup.

Sing Street recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim. Written and directed by John Carney (Once, Begin Again), Sing Street will open the Dublin International Film Festival on February 18th and will be released in Irish cinemas on March 18th.
How Was Your Day?, directed by Damien O’Donnell and based on a short story by Nollaig Rowan, follows a woman who is excited about the approaching birth of her first child. Funded under the IFB’s Signatures short film scheme, it was the winner of the Best Irish Short award at the Academy Award®-accredited Foyle Film Festival.
The animation Geist, written and directed by Sean Mullen, Ben Harper and Alex Sherwood, follows a shipwrecked fisherman who takes shelter in an abandoned house on a remote island, but soon realises he is not alone. Funded under the IFB’s Frameworks short film scheme, it won the Best Animated Sequence in a Short Film award at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Both How Was Your Day? and Geist will screen at the Dublin International Film Festival as part of the ADIFF Shorts 2 programme on February 26th
