Various roles

Various roles to be filled in a number of short narrative films about Irish folklore
An open casting day will be held in Room C103, upstairs in the Henry Grattan Building in DCU on Friday the 17th of June between 4 and 8pm.

If you cannot attend on the day, please send your headshot and showreel, if possible to jane.quigley9@mail.dcu.ie. Preference will be given to those who attend the casting call. Please mention in your application whether or not you will be attending.

This is an unpaid project. However,all expenses regarding travel and catering will be covered. Filming will take place in July, for one or two days per role.

Male Roles

– Man, 35 years or older, to play the role of mad scientist.
– Father of a missing girl. 30 years or older.
– Man between 30 and 60 years. Interview setting: retelling the story of his encounter with a water beast.
– Soldiers aged between 25 and 40. Well built, shaved head preferable. Two speaking roles and one non-speaking role.

Female Roles

– Woman aged 45 or older. This is an Irish speaking role so a proficiency with Irish is essential. Interview setting: retelling a story from her youth.
– Mother of a missing girl. 30 years or older.
– Girl aged between 8 and 12 to play friend of missing girl. (Must be accompanied by parent/guardian at casting call)
– Woman aged between 30 and 50 to play the role of a banshee. Long hair is preferable.
– Girl aged between 8 and 12. Must be comfortable around horses, although riding experience not necessary. (Must be accompanied by parent/guardian at casting call)
