Film Extravaganza for Science Week 2015


13th – 15th November

Defining Futures is an exciting film festival that explores how science is shaping our future going on from 13th November – 15th November.

Events will explore themes such as future cities, future health, future love, future tech and future life. In venues all over Dublin, from the IFI to the Lexicon in Dun Laoghaire, Defining Futures will show films and feature impressive speakers including geology’s “rock star” Prof Iain Stewart, an expert in communicating the wonder of geoscience. We visit the past with Dinosaur gurus and explore the wonders of Victorian Magic Lanterns with Prof Mervyn Heard while checking out the newest tech on the market.

Unlucky in Love? On Friday 13th November join the screening of HER with Dr Mark McCormack, Centre for Sex, Gender and Sexualities, Durham will join FAMELAB UK winner Dr Emer Maguire and writer Roisin Agnew to uncover how technology is changing our romantic lives.

Family friendly film screenings on Saturday 14th Dinosaur 13 & Sunday 15th The Iron Giant with free film series in The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland.
