Irish Screen America to Hold Three Day Showcase

Following the recent launch of Irish Screen America (formally known as Irish Film New York), a showcase of contemporary Irish film, TV, web, games and animation is set to kick off in Los Angeles in the coming days.

Irish Screen America aims to support and guide Irish media-makers by showcasing their work and fostering partnerships in the two largest cities for the entertainment industry in the United States – New York and Los Angeles. The organisation holds screenings, industry panels, discussions and master classes throughout the year.

The Los Angeles event will take place from September 25 to 27 in the University of Southern California. Films screening at both events include Traders, I Used to Live Here, After the Dance and Glassland in addition to a New Talent Showcase featuring shorts, web-series and animations.

The LA event will also feature a screenwriting masterclass from the Academy Award®-nominated Naomi Sheridan (In America), as well as a talk-back event with three Irish directors who have gone to work in Hollywood: Ruairi Robinson (Last Days on Mars), Ciarán Foy (Sinister 2) and Gary Shore (Dracula Untold). It will also feature a showcase of new Irish talent and local Los Angeles Irish filmmakers.

The LA showcase will be followed by a New York event beginning on October 2nd.
