Screen Producers Ireland (SPI) is the independent film and television production sector’s advocacy body and is currently seeking to recruit a Policy and Communications Manager to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the CEO and working within a small office team environment, the successful candidate will join the busy team based in Merrion Square. This role incorporates a wide range of communications, public affairs and policy tasks.

This is a dynamic role that requires someone who is proactive and reliable with the confidence to liaise with senior colleagues and external stakeholders. Knowledge of / experience working with the Irish television and production sector would be a distinct advantage.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:


Manage and develop excellent communications with industry stakeholders and the SPI membership
Draft and approve regular SPI membership e-bulletins
Manage and update the information flow for the SPI website and Twitter feed
Deal with and direct membership queries
Manage and deliver a range of membership events (approx. 8 per annum) including the SPI annual AGM
Review and analyse annual events strategy taking into consideration feedback from members
Represent SPI at industry events and festivals


Support the CEO in delivering SPI strategic plan
Promote and advocate for the value and benefits of the Independent Production Sector
Ensure that Policy positions and messages are communicated to a wide variety of audiences
Research a range of sectoral briefs affecting SPI members and be able to write high quality informed, succinct briefings, reports and consultation responses for internal and external audiences
Manage SPI advocacy campaigns
Manage the public affairs and media related information flow including maintaining and developing up to date contact databases
Coordinate, minute and implement the work of the SPI Broadcast and Animation Committees in liaison with their Chairs
Attend meetings with Government and other Policy Committee meetings

Required Skills / Qualifications include:

Relevant Politics, Business, Economics, Communications Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum 3-4 years relevant work experience
High level of literacy and numeracy
Ability to demonstrate strong writing and editorial skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong administration skills including technical website competence
Level of confidence to liaise with senior colleagues and external stakeholders
Experience working with the media, managing events and meetings is desirable
Experience working with the film and TV production sector an advantage
A good understanding of the film and TV sector an advantage
Ability to understand and analyse sectoral information and provide clear, concise and accurate briefings and consultation responses
Report writing experience
Solid experience of organising committees and meetings, including taking minutes
Excellent IT skills, knowledge of website content management systems and social media is essential

Salary will be with within the region of €40,000-45,000 per annum.
